My dear soldiers of peace and love, I felt very blessed to be in your company on the evening of Wednesday the 19th of February 2020 when we walked together on our pilgrimage to the sacred lake of Grand Bassin.

Our brothers and sisters from all communities, Chinese, Muslim, Population Générale and Hindu within that big SMP’s family walked side by side, hand in hand and with the same holy spirit burning inside our hearts, we converged to the banks of Grand Bassin with our offerings to Lord Shiva after we fasted for three days.

Lord Shiva saved the world by drinking the pot of poison emerged from the ocean. The 14th night of the lunar month is a Shivratri. Out of the 12 Shivratri the most important one is Mahashivratri which we are celebrating on this pilgrimage. We observed the sadhana during 3 days and were ready to take our journey along with our Hindu brothers and sisters .

I am very thankful to the devotees by the banks of Grand Bassin who intiated our non hindu SMP’s family members in performing the rituals. A big thank you to the devotees on behalf of our SMP’s pilgrims. Also i am deeply touched and very proud to see our SMP’s pilgrims praying, blessing and praising Lord Shiva. It was the moment when we realised we are indeed all the children of the same God irrespective of our race, class and color.

Thank you all our soldiers who prepared the holy and pious evening . You did a fantastic job. Together we make Mauritius great.

Wishing you all a peaceful and a very joyful Mahashivratri.
